Box Score
The Nashville Outlaws got a 10-strikeout performance from Taylor Haydel (Western Kentucky) and a 3-for-4, four-RBI game from red-hot Ryan McCauley (Niagara) to defeat Dubois County, 7-1 in game one of a Thursday doubleheader at Hawkins Field.
It marked the second straight game that a Nashville starting pitcher has struck out 10 batters in a game. Navery Moore (Vanderbilt) struck out 10 in seven innings last night in a 5-4 win against Springfield.
McCauley is hitting .737 (14-for-19) in his last six games and has seen his batting average improve nearly a 150 points during that stretch.
In Haydel's last two starts, he has struck out 19 and walked only three in his 12.1 innings of work. The Mt. Juliet, Tenn., native has nearly 6:1 strikeout (33) to walk ratio (5) in 27 innings this summer for the Outlaws.
We are currently in the top of the fifth inning in game two of tonight's doubleheader with the Dubois County Bombers.
