Outlaws fall 3-2 to Danville in extra innings

DANVILLE, Ill. - Danville's Jesse Tierney drove in Cole Bieser for the game winning run in the bottom of the 10th as the Dans edged the Nashville Outlaws 3-2 at Danville Stadium.

Johnny Amann (Judson) led the Outlaws with three hits Tuesday while Matt Borgschulte (Western Kentucky) and Kevin Smith (LSU-Shreveport) each had two hits. In three games with the Outlaws Borgschulte is 7-for-12 for a .583 batting average.

Andy Hillis (Tennessee) was sharp on the mound Tuesday, throwing six-innings of shutout baseball. Hillis, who was making his first appearance since July 3rd, struck out seven while allowing only two hits in the six-inning no-decision.

Kevin Crumb (Buffalo) continued to be stellar out of the bullpen on Monday, throwing two-innings of scoreless relief to go along with three strikeouts. In 12 appearances for the Outlaws this summer, Crumb boasts at 0.95 ERA in 19 innings.

Drew Fann (Vanderbilt), Sam Dove (Georgia Tech) and Greg Bachman (Austin Peay) each tallied a hit in the loss.

The Outlaws and Dans will be back in action at Danville Stadium tomorrow (Wednesday) night at 6:30 p.m.
